Tough Competitive Racing
On Sunday, February 24 the RC Club hosted a day of rock’em sock’em racing. The racing was hard, competitive and led to many broken parts. Those drivers who drove clean laps and avoided crashes scored more points than those who crashed, rolled over and hit other cars or trucks. In the Slash Class there was a lot of hard contact and broken parts. In Heat 1 of Round 1 Henry edged out Eric for the top spot. Henry had 16 laps in 5:04.55 and Eric had 16 laps in 5:20.28. Mathew and Benjamin followed them. In Heat 2 of Round 1 Husayn ran an excellent race for the win with 17 laps in 5:09.87. He was followed by Ryan, Rohail, Alex, Jordan, Corey, and Brock. In Heat 1 of Round 2 Mathew W. drove a great race for the win with 18 laps in 5:08.63. Eric, Benjamin, Mathew T., Henry, and Nathan followed him. In Heat 2 of Round 2 Husayn raced to the top with 16 laps in 503.09. He was followed by Brock, Ryan, Rohail, Alex, Jordan and Corey. In the “B” Main Nathan drove an outstanding race racking up 19 laps in 5:03.96. This bumped him into the “A” Main. Mathew T., Ryan, Rohail, Corey and Alex followed him. In the “A” Main Mathew W. drove an outstanding race with 19 laps in 5:19.36. He was closely followed in second place by Eric. They were followed by Husayn, Nathan, Benjamin, Brock and Henry.
In the SCT Class the rough driving continued. In Heat 1 of Round 1 Mathew W. lapped the field for the victory with 19 laps in 5:09.05. Behind him were Mathew T., Henry and Ryan. In Heat 2 of Round 1 Nathan edged out Alex for the top spot with 17 laps in 505.75. Alex had 17 laps in 5:15.23. Behind them were Benjamin, Jordan, Rohail and Corey. In Heat 1 of Round 2 Husayn drove a great race for the win with 18 laps in 5:05.57. He was followed by Mathew W., Ryan, Henry, and Mathew T. In Heat 2 of Round 2 Alex drove a great race lapping the field on his way to the win with 18 laps in 5:22.30. Rohail, Benjamin, Nathan, Jordan, and Corey followed him. In the “B” Main Jordan got the win and a trip to the “A” Main with 15 laps on 5:08.73 and Corey was second. In the “A” Main the race was marred by frequent crashes. Nathan earned the top spot 18 laps in 5:06.24. Behind him were Rohail, Benjamin, Ryan, Henry, Alex, Husayn, Mathew W., Jordan, and Mathew T.
The 4-Tec Touring Class the driving was cleaner. In Round 1 Mathew W. earned the win with a great drive of 19 laps in 5:12.42. Ryan was second, Team Hadley was third, Husayn was fourth, Mathew T. was fifth, and Michael was sixth. In Round 2 Team Hadley got the win with 17 laps in 5:16.85, Husayn was second, Mathew T. was third, Ryan was fourth, and Michael was fifth. In the Main Husayn drove very well for the victory with 16 laps in 5:05.08, Mathew W. was a close second, Team Hadley was third, Mathew T. fourth and Michael was fifth.
In the Team Buggy Class the racing was close between our four Bandit teams. In Round 1 The Green Team got the win with 18 laps in 5:13.53. The Red Team was second, the Blue Team was third, and the Black Team was fourth. In Round 2 the Blue Team drove well with 17 laps in 5:02.08 for first place, the Black Team was second, the Green Team was third and the Red team was fourth. In the Main the Blue team edged out the Green Team for first place, The Blue Team had 18 laps in 5:07.59 and the Green team had 18 laps in 5:13.95. The Black team was third and the Red Team was fourth.
We had very good racing in the Off Road Truck Class. Mathew W. dominated the Main with 21 laps in 5:08.02,

Our March races are on consecutive Sundays on March 10 and 17. The Hadley Invitational is April 5th, 6th, and 7th.
